Introduction

Simulmedia Switchboard is the transaction platform for linear TV, built on order automation Simulmedia has run for its own national linear buying for years. Sellers package inventory any way they choose and publish it with rates and availability. Buyers, human or software agent, discover that inventory and place orders that move through one defined lifecycle: validated, price-locked, approved by the seller, and written into the seller's traffic system.

You integrate once and reach every buyer or seller on the platform the same way. And the marketplace is symmetric: everything a buyer can do through a surface, a seller can do from the other side.

What you can do here

  • Discover inventory. Private catalogs carry your negotiated rates under your agreements; open catalogs need no relationship. Packages, prices, and availability, all queryable.
  • Transact any deal type. Pay by the spot or by the audience, guaranteed or not; buy upfront, in scatter, or on near-air remnant and opportunistic windows; take the catalog or send a proposal. See the deal model.
  • Track everything. One authoritative record per order, an append-only event log, webhooks as hints and snapshots as truth.
  • Bring your agent, or use ours. REST, MCP, CLI, web, webhooks, files, and queues expose the same operations on both sides. Humans keep the approval decisions.

What Switchboard moves

Switchboard manages the state of each transaction. By default, invoicing, payment, and make-goods settle directly between buyer and seller on the terms of the order. Where the parties have no relationship, optional cleared settlement through Simulmedia is available under one agreement, with the seller's make-good policy passing through back-to-back.
